These hones have a rigid body and the expansion is done by independent diamond segments.
The configuration of this family of tools allows a greater expansion force than with expandable body honing tools. It is possible to rough, finish and super-finish with a single body and several sets of segments.
All Mu-Tools honing tools have a self-centring expansion system which allows them to remove a minimum of material if necessary.
